A responsible investing professional over with 20 years’ experience in the institutional investment industry, Susan joined the public markets team at BCI in 2016. BCI’s public markets program manages a global portfolio of fixed income and public equity investments representing $137.8 billion in assets under management. The consideration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters is an essential part of BCI’s investment beliefs and Susan’s responsibilities include overseeing ESG analysis and integration for portfolio companies, conducting engagement with corporate issuers, regulators, and external investment managers on ESG risks, developing public policy submissions on ESG matters and educating and assisting BCI’s clients on ESG. Prior to joining BCI, Susan was a responsible investing analyst at The Ontario Public Service Employees Union Pension Trust (OPTrust). She holds an MBA from the University of Fredericton’s Sandermoen School of Business, focusing on Social Enterprise Leadership.
Susan also serves on the Board of Directors of the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC), chairs PIAC’s Investor Stewardship Committee, and is a member of the Research Committee for the SDI Asset Owner Platform.
