Damara Kiceniuk is a Senior Risk Analyst in the Pensions department at BC Financial Services Authority. BCFSA is a Crown regulatory agency that oversees B.C.’s financial services sector which includes pension plans, mortgage brokers, real estate services, real estate development marketing, and financial institutions (credit unions and insurance and trust companies).
Damara is an Associate of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries, as well as a CFA charter holder, with prior experience in pension and investment consulting. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA) ESG Committee. (CAPSA is a national association of pension regulators whose mission is to facilitate an efficient and effective pension regulatory system in Canada.)
Additionally, Damara is part of a BCFSA internal working group that is developing a proposed regulatory approach for financial services providers to address the challenges and risks posed from natural catastrophes and a changing climate. The proposal will be available for public consultation later this year.
