Anthony Schein’s career has been dedicated to social and political change through civic engagement, community development and trade unionism.
Prior to joining SHARE, Anthony spent almost a decade in senior roles at an Ontario public sector trade union, where he worked with senior leadership on advocacy, governance, campaigns and negotiations. Anthony has also worked extensively in municipal, provincial and federal politics, both in government and on election campaigns.
Anthony is committed to fairness, inclusion, and building a democratic economy that works for everyone. His years working in politics and in the labour movement have taught Anthony that building alliances and the ability to find common ground and compromise are essential, but that principles matter.
Anthony earned an honours BA in political theory and cultural studies from Marlboro College, a small, rural college that is self-governed by students, faculty and staff, using a traditional New England-style town meeting. He has also pursued graduate studies in communication and cultural studies at York and Ryerson Universities.
He is an eternal optimist.
